Mod Citrus Palm Springs Wedding

This black and white wedding was a true gem. The base colors were black and white, but then Gianna of Chic Celebrations layered on emerald green, gold, orange, coral, and shades of medium pink. Chris and Ivette's October wedding was held at the Sand Acre Estate in Palm Springs on a warm and windy October day. The look was modern sophistication with a touch of vibrant whimsy. And really, I automatically love any design that includes fresh fruit - specifically citrus like this Ojai wedding featured in Martha Stewart Weddings.
It is always a treat to design with different elements.
Enjoy Krista Mason's beautiful photos of this beautiful day!!

Ivette's lush floral bouquet was created with coral charm peonies, orange ranunculus, coral dahlias, pink garden roses, and free spirit garden roses with maidenhair fern, bay lead  and geranium accents. Finished with my favorite bouquet accent, a thick black and white striped ribbon. Ivette brought in a touch of the emerald green with her beautiful necklace.

We were fortunate enough to catch that magical week in October when the coral charm peonies return  for one last hurrah. The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Ivette's bouquet, finished with a gold ribbon wrap.

Gianna designed this arch decor, and we created it... She wanted something traditional, with a modern flair. We did an asymmetrical design with the material and florals. The simple, clean lines gave the structure a modern look, and the florals were lush and full to soften it. We also added hints of citrus throughout the flowers.

For cockatail hour, we created all white floral arrangements with greenery and clementines in sleek black vessels. We lightly added pops of color on the white furniture with loose blooms. We tucked in one of my favorite flowers for texture, the nerine lilies.

Close up of the centerpiece flowers, we used proteas, a variety of dahlias, coral charm peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, free spirit roses, with fragrant clementines, bay leaf, maiden hair fern and geranium. Working with color is always fuels our creative energy.

By using  a mix of linens, Gianna was able to incorporate the drama of the black, but kept it not too heavy by using white with the stunning black and white striped runners. The look was cohesive and elegant, with a touch of modern whismy. So. Damn. Good. All linens by Mod Mix Studio. We added a single clementine to each setting for another pop of color, with a small green leaf.

Guests found their seat by custom champagne glasses as place cards... such a fun and different idea!!

One of my FAVORITE lounge vignettes. The colors and the prints are just beyond. All the gorgeous pieces are from Found Rentals...
