Classic Athenaeum Wedding in Pasadena

This classic beauty of a wedding at the Athenaeum was one of my favorites of 2015... Timeless white florals with greenery and black vessels, along with the chicest couple, and the most beautiful venue in Pasadena made for a stunning wedding day. At the helm of this classic perfection was my friend Nancy Park of So Happi Together. And Mr. Brandon Kidd really took the most gorgeous images... Wishing you all the love and happiness Vivian and Michael, you were a pleasure to design for xoxo

Clean and classic all white floral arrangements offset by dark greenery foliage and placed in matte black vessels. With the slightest hint of gold dotted throughout the tables.

Vivian wore one of the most show stopping gowns I have ever seen. And she dressed her girls in fun metallic floral embroidered dresses. We kept the bouquets simple with cream, champagne and soft white flowers.

All the guys were sharply dressed in black tuxedos and it was the perfect complement to the ladies.

I personally prefer smaller floral boutonnieres for men, and the ranunculus has become one of my favorite flowers to use for these pieces.

The ceremony was held on the steps of the Athenaeum. The courtyard is truly stunning with high arches and columns, so we kept the floral decor low. We created two over sized floral arrangements that helped frame the bride and groom during the ceremony. We added garlands of foliage, flowers, and rose petals to soften the concrete steps.

My favorite thing to give flower girls is a mini bouquet with trailing ribbon tails. These sweet girls are just too cute.

Nancy and her team added pictures of loved ones to the existing wishing well to create a fitting memorial.

The reception was set with a mix of long and round tables. We had three different centerpiece styles... Half of the long tables were set with garlands and floral, and the other half were lined with a variety of centerpieces in different sizes. The round guest tables were set with one larger floral centerpiece. Although we incorporated different centerpiece styles, the look remained consistent because of the all white flowers, dark foliage and black vessels.

A truly gorgeous wedding and we were honored to play a small part in this big day.
