Vintage Drama - A Wedding at Calamigos Equestrian Center in Burbank

When I first met April & Ken, we clicked right away... They are both such genuinely nice people, and one of my favorite couples... so warm and welcoming. When you're around them, you can't help but see the love and admiration they have for each other in their eyes. They are both professional dancers who have traveled all over the world. During their down time, they were committed to creating and personalizing their wedding. They visited every thrift store and flea market in the Los Angeles area, collecting vintage containers with character, cameo jewelry and chandelier crystals.
Their wedding style was a mix of vintage elegance with a dramatic edge. The wedding color palette included black, amethyst, eggplant with splashes of burgundy and cream. April's stunning dress was created by her good friend and professional costume designer. The dress couldn't have been more April, from the purple crinoline petticoat, the cameo details, to the Queen Elizabeth style ruffled, standing collar... it was vintage elegance with drama. Ken and April also created the table numbers, named after the different places around the world they visited while on tour, the Just Married banner, the guestbook table letters with hand poured wax seals and the votive candles adorned with cameos.
The flowers needed to coordinate with the style of their wedding, so we added a little drama with guinea fowl feathers, burgundy dahlias, dark purple lisianthis, black mini calla lilies and incorporated white hydrangea, roses and mini calla lilies. We added texture with feathery agonis foliage, seeded eucalyptus, dark green ivy and chocolate mint geranium. Ken and April wanted an eclectic, natural style for the floral arrangements and decor. They wanted each arrangement to be custom designed for the different containers and vases.

The wedding was held on a lovely June day at the Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank.Ken and April also hired the photographer who took their head shots to shoot their wedding after falling in love with his dramatic style. The morning of the wedding, Ken his brothers and best friend were busy with wedding preparations and making sure everything was perfect. April was given away by both her father and best friend. Their wedding day was filled with lots of family, love, laughter and dancing!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Anneberg!

A Sweet HALLOWEEN Treat - Candy Corn Floral Arrangement

Wishing you a safe and sweet Happy Halloween this weekend...
filled with more treats than tricks!!!

October... where did you go???

I have been a horrible blogger, this last month has flown by so quickly. It almost seems as though I blinked and October was gone. It has been a good, insanely busy month... just trying to catch my breath. Here are just a few highlights from this month... We were so blessed with the opportunity to do a photo shoot with Bride & Bloom Magazine... We provided all of the flowers for the Winnie Couture Fashion Show at their new Beverly Hills Flagship store... as well as numerous weddings and events I cannot wait to blog about... However, the most important day of the month, was my precious Kate's 2nd Birthday. My little Kate is 2, it was such a bittersweet day... the last two years have flown by so quickly. I have been gluing tiny bows to Minnie Mouse heads for the last month in preparation for her birthday party. Here are a few images that sum up our month. I will post more detailed blogs later...

We can't wait to see the professional pictures from the fabulous Lauren Hillary in the Winter issue of Bride & Bloom magazine!!! The location was also amazing, La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes. Please excuse the poor quality of these images, they're from a camera phone.
Thank you Richelle for this amazing opportunity! We can't wait to work with you again!!
