PUBLISHED in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine Spring 2013

I am beyond excited to share this BIG news today... WE are published in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. To say I am happy would be the biggest understatement of the year, I am currently somewhere floating above the clouds in a dreamy state. To be totally honest - it doesn't even seem real. I keep looking at the pages and the images of my work, but it hasn't fully registered...perhaps when I come down from cloud 9, it will finally sink in!!
Not only are we published in the beautiful pages of the Spring 2013 issue, but we are also featured on their website... Visit here to see the online feature!!!

Of course, nothing replaces the REAL thing - the magazine. Seeing our work among the printed pages of one of the most brilliant and loved wedding magazines is a dream come true. Martha Stewart has always been an idol of mine... I have been collecting her magazines since I was 14 years old. Another full circle moment has come true and I am so very grateful.

I am eternally grateful for the amazing Angel Swanson, the creative event designer of Love and Splendor that asked us to be a part of her sister Anna's big day. From the moment I laid eyes on the breathtaking invitation from another creative genius, Julie Song Ink - I was in love with this wedding. Never did I expect this gorgeous wedding to grace the pages of Martha Stewart. Being featured in Martha Stewart was the icing on the cake for the amazing wedding.
And a HUGE thank you to the talented Mr. Ryan Ray for being such a pleasure to work with on the wedding day and then for taking the most beautiful images of our work. I am seriously in love with every image he shot. He is so talented and his eye for detail is impeccable - it shines through in every image. Thank you Ryan!!!

Keep an eye out for a FULL wedding post with all of the delicious details soon... Until then, pick up a copy of the magazine at your nearest book store or view it online. Thank you for sharing in this exciting and HUGE personal milestone for me. Thank you for your continuous support and love, I really would not be here without the support of my amazing clients and family...xoxo

Calamigos Ranch Malibu Wedding - Christmas in July

Happy to finally be back from a loooong break from blogging to share this beautiful Christmas in July inspired wedding. It's really not a surprise that this dreamy wedding of creamy champagne, taupe, blush pink and white was featured on Style Me Pretty. Bonnie was a girl after my own heart and we bonded over our love of everything that glitters and sparkles. This was a fun wedding to design because Bonnie wanted something outside of the rustic elegance box.. It was refreshing and fun to work with her and I loved her attention to details. Bonnie and Alex were married at one of my favorite Southern California venues - Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.

Bonnie's bouquet was created with taupe, ivory, champagne and bridal roses, accented with rhinestones and a collar of dusty miller as well as hand glittered and painted seeded eucalyptus. Her bridal bouquet was the perfect balance between romantic elegance and whimsy.
Bonnie dreamed up this ceremony decor design. The gazebo was draped in champagne material that tied back to reveal strands of hand beaded garlands of crystals and flowers. We also adorned the gazebo frame with clusters of roses, hydrangea, glittered baby's breath clusters and hanging amaranths that we hand painted and glittered.

Custom made chair covers coordinated with the reception decor.
The whole design was so dreamy... pictures seriously do not do it justice. Especially when the hanging crystals would catch the sun's rays. It was the epitome of a Christmas in July wedding with a soft color palette and romantic rustic elegance. (yes I just made all that up - but it is so true!!)

The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Bonnie's bouquet... all the handles were wrapped in glittered mesh material and finished with sparkly rhinestone brooches.

Another ode to Bonnie's subtle Christmas in July look were the custom made wreaths that hung on the doors leading to the reception...
The centerpieces were created with white hydrangea, taupe and ivory roses, along with cafe au lait dahlias and we tucked glittered puffs of baby's breath in as well. Rustic brown birch branches coordinated with the venue decor. Bonnie hand painted and glittered the tall vases... they were stunning in person!!

And how could we have a Christmas in July wedding without incorporating a few "trees"?!? We adorned rustic brown manzanita trees with hanging crystals, glittered ornaments as well as mercury glass ornaments. The base of the trees were surrounded by fresh white hydrangea and roses placed in a wooden box.

Thank you so much Bonnie and Alex for letting me be a part of your wedding day. It was such a pleasure working alongside your glittered heart on this special day. All of the details and countless hours were well worth it... PS: I still find glitter everywhere!! xoxo

Many MANY many special thanks to Holly for being so awesome with the setup and strike... xoxo

And of course, thank you so much Marianne Wilson Photography for allowing us to share the gorgeous images of all of our hard work. We greatly appreciate it!! Pin It

Orchard Wedding - Citrus Wedding Colors

This shoot still makes my citrus orchard loving heart soar... My vision was a preppy, elegant wedding reception set in the middle of an orange orchard. We took this look in a different direction than rustic and vintage, instead we wanted something fresh yet classic. This table design was also featured in the 2011 edition of Bride and Bloom Magazine.
Stephanie Williams of This Modern Romance is by far one of my favorite photographers. Her eye for design and detail is impeccable. She is warm, friendly and extremely talented. I am always in awe of her work and giving heart. She and her husband Isaac also helped us bring a table and all of our pieces out into the middle of an orchard. This shoot really would not have been possible without these two amazing people. They were also the genius photography team behind our Spanish photo shoot. Last year Isaac and Stephanie were dealt a huge blow when Isaac was diagnosed with a brain tumor... to read more about their story and to donate, please visit Help Heal Isaac. If you have found any inspiration from these pictures, or just want to pay it forward, please consider even donating $5 to help Isaac along his path to recovery.

And now the delicious images...

We used a powder blue pin tuck linen, with a soft butter yellow linen runner down the center of the table. The look was fresh and clean.

I used rose patterned containers with flowers in shades of blue, yellow and orange...with a pop of green and coral . I used runnunculas, roses, viburnum, hydrangea, garden roses and dusty miller.

We brought in our own chandeliers and hung them overhead... it added a little bling and elegance to the orchard. Which might I add, smelled as amazing as it looks.

My love for Posh Paperie is BIG. Their designs are always timeless and creative. Karrie and Elizabeth designed simple chair cards for the bride and groom with blue dupioni ribbon.

A single yellow rose and sugared lemon at each place setting.

Another Posh Paperie gem... the menu and programs were perfection!

I LOVE this shot, it reminds me of a warm summer day and pink lemonade...

Melody of Sweet and Saucy did an AMAZING job on the cake. She used the same lace detail Karrie of Posh Paperie designed for all the paper goods on the fondant. And the sugar flower looked so realistic, it was insane!!

Many, many thanks to all of the fabulous wedding talents who came together for this magazine shoot. And I hope this inspires your summer loving heart too...xoxo
